WSP’s Building Technology Services team designed the audio system and shared communications infrastructure in the park. From a visitor experience perspective, this technology allows visitors to hear music while exploring the park’s different programming areas. From an engineering perspective, WSP’s team designed telecom pathway cabling and distribution, and shared smart system rooms for telecom, audio/visual, building management systems, 5G and security use.
An underground loop of conduit pathways serves all the park’s buildings, including ten retail kiosks, the bar, performance platform and the trailhead building. Telecom structured fiber and copper cabling supports security video, Wi-Fi, building management systems/metering, lighting control, fountain control and site-wide audio, and ties into National Landing’s private 5G network.
WSP’s technology solutions help make the park more connected, with infrastructure in place that serves park visitors now and in the future.
In 2023, Water Park was awarded the DESIGNArlington award for excellence in architectural and landscape design.
