WSP has worked closely with the Department of State Bureau of Overseas Building Operations for several decades, providing a range of services to embassies and other government facilities throughout Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Among current projects is the renovation and addition to the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, India. WSP is working closely with the architectural team to reenvision the main Chancery Building, which is currently listed on the Secretary of State’s Register of Culturally Significant Property. The project also includes a new masterplan and historic studies, as well as complex utility sequencing, and phased demolition and construction of 14 new buildings. WSP is assisting the team in delivering a top-of-the-line facility with unique local considerations, including an air filtration system designed to overcome the high concentration of outdoor air pollutants and full backup power generation to allow the campus to remain operational in the event of an electric utility outage.
