HOUSTON — Christopher Dorang, PE, has been named a senior vice president and maritime national technical director at WSP, a leading engineering, environment and professional services firm.
Dorang, based in Houston, oversees quality execution of maritime projects across the U.S., bringing nearly 30 years of maritime experience to his new role.
As a technical director, Dorang is responsible for managing project teams, assisting with proposals and leading design development and fostering client service. Additionally, he supports growth and development of WSP’s maritime team by providing mentorship and technical guidance, and is a key participant in recruiting and hiring technical professionals.

Prior to joining WSP, Dorang served as a senior project manager and senior technologist for an international engineering services company that planned, designed and built port infrastructure. He has delivered dozens of projects worldwide including dry dock facilities, container terminal design, bulk material facilities, cruise facilities and U.S. Navy facilities. He has extensive experience in design-build, early contractor involvement and alternate delivery.
Dorang is a graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
